Interview: Clarity Through Creative Thinking
Tarot, Moon Astrology & the Art of Transformation with Carolyn of Clarity Insight
Interviewer: Carolyn, your career has taken you from IT leadership to healthcare, community arts, and now Clarity Insight. What connects all of those shifts?
Carolyn: The thread is transformation. I’ve navigated a lot of reinventions in my own life — founding my own IT business in my twenties, becoming a global practice lead, retraining in healthcare, and then moving into community arts and spiritual practice. Each stage has been about turning challenges into opportunities. What I bring to Clarity Insight is the lived experience of walking through uncertainty and coming out with clarity, confidence, and creative freedom.
Interviewer: You’ve often spoken about “transmutation” in your art practice. How does that idea play into your work now?
Carolyn: Transmutation is about transforming something difficult into something positive. In my artwork I’ve used processes like burning or cutting to show how decay can become preservation — a metaphor for resilience. That philosophy runs through Clarity Insight too. When people come to me, they’re often stuck, doubting themselves, or uncertain about their path. Tarot and astrology give them a fresh perspective and timing, while supportive creative activities help them embody those insights and shift into action.
Interviewer: Clarity Insight has built credibility both creatively and professionally. Could you share some of that recognition?
Carolyn: Of course. My creative workshops have won awards such as Best Creative Art & Craft Experience in the Orkney Islands, Best Art & Craft Experience in Scotland, and Art Workshop Provider of the Year. I was also honoured as a Community Champion for my services to the arts. On the professional side, I’m a certified Moonologer, trained with Yasmin Boland, hold a diploma in astrology, and I’m a member of both the Astrological Association and the Tarot Association of Great Britain. Those memberships and certifications really matter in a field where people are often looking for reassurance that they’re working with someone credible and experienced.
Interviewer: You’ve been a professional tarot reader for many years too, haven’t you?
Carolyn: Yes, since 2012. I’ve read for clients through major tarot companies on the phone lines, and in person at venues like London Olympia, Manchester Exhibition Centre, and Buxton Pavilion. What I’ve found is that people don’t just want predictions. They want clarity, direction, and a framework they can work with. That’s where lunar astrology and supportive creative activities come in — they turn insight into something people can act on in their daily lives.
Interviewer: Who comes to Clarity Insight, and what are they usually looking for?
Carolyn: People often come at a turning point — perhaps unsure about their next step in a relationship, career, or personal growth. Many feel stuck or blocked, and they want clarity without heavy theory or judgment. My clients are looking for practical tools and soulful guidance. What I offer is tarot and lunar astrology at the centre, complemented by supportive creative activities that help them ground those insights. It’s not about being an artist or learning techniques — it’s about using simple activities to unlock confidence and new possibilities.
Interviewer: And what makes your approach unique compared to others in the tarot or astrology world?
Carolyn: I combine three things: spiritual insight, strategic clarity, and accessible creativity. My background in IT and healthcare means I’m structured and practical; my art practice adds depth and metaphor; and my spiritual training grounds it all with credibility. I’m not a sage on the stage — I’m a guide on the side. My role is to walk alongside people, encouraging them, showing them how to use these tools themselves, and helping them move forward with confidence.
Interviewer: What’s next for Clarity Insight?
Carolyn: I’m developing an eight-week program that brings together tarot, lunar astrology, and supportive creative activities in a structured journey. I’m also creating a Moon Circle membership, where people can meet at each New Moon and Full Moon for guidance, clarity, and community. It feels like the perfect next chapter — combining everything I’ve lived and learned into one cohesive offering.
